It strengthens the power of ritual acts, brings prosperity to the listener, destroys all delusion and removes all bad fortune as well as imperfections. Laxmi Suktam should be recited on the occasion of any religious rites. Hence, she is called the Goddess of Fortune. Lakshmi is God’s superior spiritual feminine energy or the Param Prakṛiti, which purifies, empowers and uplifts the individual. She is also supposed to have the Divine qualities of God and the soul.


Vaikuṇtha-Dham is purely spiritual, eternal and self illuminating.

Also, she embodies the Spiritual World or Vaikuṇtha the abodes of Lakṣhmi-Narayaṇ or Vishnu, not to be confused with Heaven, as The Heavenly Planets are still part of the Material Universe. Lakshmi is also the personification of the spiritual energy within us and universe called Kundalini. Since the later epic period, Lakshmi is particularly associated with Vishnu as his wife or consort. Laxmi Suktam is perhaps the first text in which the homology Lakshmi is drawn, and the goddesses are further associated with the god of fire, Agni. The goddess Lakshmi appears in several earlier Vedic hymns, and is the personification of auspicious and royal qualities. It is said that if Lakshmi becomes angry, then she has to face severe poverty.
